Are you a qualified Hair & Makeup Artist?

I’m a qualified professional, having graduated in June 2017 with a Diploma in Makeup & Hair Styling for Film, TV, Fashion, and Special Effects. I also have over 4 years of experience as a hairdresser at Hairluxx Boutique in Torbay. Along with my formal training, I’ve been self-taught in hair styling since 2012, and I continuously update my skills with new trends and techniques.

What makeup brands do you use?

Good question! Looking for a makeup artist can be daunting sometimes. You would want to know what is applied on your skin. Rest assured, I only use trusted brands and the best quality products on all our clients. Some of these include Aleph Beauty, Fenty Beauty, Makethemake, Tarte, Hourglass, Too Faced, Ben Nye, Makeup Forever, Benefit, M.A.C, Morphe, Modelrock, Matrix, Davroe, Loreal and more. We only use products that are known to have great results and reviews or that we have personally tested before we use them on you!

Can I book a trial before my wedding?

Of course! I absolutely encourage booking a preview before your wedding. It's not just about testing out different looks or services – it's about creating an experience that's tailored specifically to you.

It’s a preview of your hair and makeup for YOUR big day. It's your chance to share your vision with me, and together, we can bring it to life. Whether you're dreaming of a classic, elegant look or something bold and adventurous, the trial is where we fine-tune every detail until it's just right. But beyond the makeup and hair, the trial is about building trust and connection. It's my opportunity to understand your unique style and personality, so when your wedding day arrives, you can feel confident knowing that you're in good hands.

How should I prepare for my booking?

Hair Preparation

Wash your hair the night before by shampooing your scalp twice and conditioning your mids-ends once. Avoid using any oils, serums, smoothing creams or any silicone-based products like Pantene, Palmolive, Tresemme, or Sunsilk as these can make hair too slippery and not hold a style well.

Blow dry your hair as smoothly as possible. It doesn't need to be a perfect, salon-quality blowout, so no stress! If your hair is particularly thick or frizzy, you might consider getting a professional blowout the day before to save time, but it's not required—I’m happy to work with your natural hair on the day.

Skincare Preparation

In the months before your event, it's important to follow a skincare routine suited to your skin type. Consider consulting a skincare professional to create a personalized plan that helps your skin look its best for your special day.
A few days before your appointment, gently exfoliate your skin and lips for a smooth base. We recommend getting your brows shaped and any facial hair removed beforehand. Your makeup will only look as good as your skin does!
On the day, please arrive with a clean face—moisturizer and sunscreen are fine.

What to Wear

Wear a comfy, loose button-up shirt or robe to avoid messing up your hairstyle when changing. If you’re planning on a low bun, steer clear of collars as they can rub against your hair.

For Bridal Trials, choose a top that is similar in style and color to your wedding dress, as this will help you visualize the complete look more accurately. This way, you can see how your hair and makeup complement the entire bridal ensemble. Bring any accessories you plan to wear. If you have a veil, hairpiece, or any jewelry you plan to wear on your wedding day, bring them to the trial so we can incorporate them into the overall look.

Setting Up Your Space

Have a chair and table near a power outlet ready for us to set up. Try to keep distractions to a minimum and be on time, as any delays can affect both your service and others booked after you.

Thanks for helping us make your day run as smooth as possible!
